Mary was a missionary to Calabar which is in Nigeria, Africa.
Mary was born in Scotland in a poor family. She had to help look after her 6 brothers and sisters.
In Calabar she built an orphanage, a chapel, a school and a hospital.
Once Mary saved two twins from being kiled
She had a lot of hard times in her life.
In 1886 she was the only person left in her family.
